Neal Ringquist joins Advisor Software as President and Chief Operating Officer
Former Morningstar Sales and Marketing Executive Joins Leading Provider of Portfolio Analytics and Investment Proposal Applications


Lafayette, CA - April 26, 2005 - Advisor Software, Inc. (ASI) today announced that Neal Ringquist has joined the company as President and Chief Operating Officer. Ringquist joins ASI from Morningstar Associates LLC, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Ringquist will oversee all aspects of ASI's operations and will be responsible for setting and driving the company's overall strategy.

Previously, Ringquist served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Morningstar Associates, LLC, a registered investment advisor and wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc. He managed the distribution of Morningstar's suite of advice, managed account and consulting services delivered through the institutional market. Prior to Morningstar, Neal was the Executive Vice President responsible for sales, marketing, and client services for mPower, a privately held San Francisco-based investment advisory firm that was acquired by Morningstar in July 2003. Neal has also held positions with Wells Fargo Bank, Bankers Trust Company and William M. Mercer Inc.
